Spa Etiquette, Staff Bios, and Frequently Asked Questions
- The Spa is a sanctuary to relax and unwind. Please use a soft voice when in the spa area.
- Please turn off your cell phone upon entering Raven Loche.
Phone conversations and ringers disrupt our serene environment.
- No children under the age of 12 are permitted in the salon or spa unless receiving services. Small children's haircuts may be scheduled late in the day due to most spa clientele appointments being earlier in the day.
- Gratuity is appreciated by our staff. It is proper to a leave 15-20% gratuity upon checking out. Our preset packages already include gratuity.
- Please do not schedule or keep your appointment while you are sick, in consideration of others' as well as your own health and well-being. We work closely with many people and will appreciate you rescheduling your appointment for a time when you are well.
- If you have had surgery or given birth within the last three months, please check with your doctor prior to scheduling a bodywork appointment. In most cases, you should wait at least 8 to 10 weeks after surgery or childbirth before receiving a massage, perhaps longer if you have certain health conditions or a family history of certain health conditions. Please feel free to call or email us if you have any questions or would like to consult with our massage therapist regarding this policy.
- If you come in with any nail funguses, diseases or any contagious health issues you will be asked to reschedule your appointment.
- Our pedicure sanitation and disinfecting procedures meet and/or exceed State and EPA requirements. We use Ameri-Kleen disinfectant which is only one of two products containing chelating (key-lating) surface detergent which breaks down creams, lotions, and oils used during pedicures.
- We cannot do a pedicure or a manicure on the hands and/or feet where the skin is broken, bruised, scratched, infected, bleeding, etc. Microorganisms in foot spas can be entered through the skin if the skin is broken. Do not shave or use hair removal creams or wax your legs 24 hours before a pedicure.
- While we do accept Walk-Ins and Same Day appointments based on availability, we recommend that you make a reservation in advance to ensure an appointment for your desired services.
- Kindly plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to your appointment time to allow for traffic delays, etc., even if you are not a new client, to allow yourself time to shift gears and relax, as well as to allow time to complete any necessary paperwork. If you have any special concerns, pain, injury, or other issues to discuss with your skin care or massage therapist, we recommend that you request additional complimentary consultation time when booking your appointment. New clients and those not having received massage or skin care services within the previous 12 months will be requested to complete a client profile form upon arrival. We schedule appointments according to our specialists’ availability and specialty.
- If you are running late, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you. Arriving late will likely limit the time allocated for your service; it will lessen the effectiveness and most importantly your pleasure and enjoyment. If you are late for your appointment (especially 15 minutes or more) you may be asked to reschedule. Please do call us. We do understand circumstances that are beyond your control (i.e., sickness, traffic, etc.). As a courtesy to all clients our treatments are completed as scheduled. We regret that we are unable to extend treatment times for late arrivals, in fairness to our other clients with scheduled appointments.
- Raven Loche Salon and Day Spa requires a 24-hour notice to cancel any appointment. Cancellations of Spa Day Packages or any combination of three or more appointments scheduled on the same day require a 48 hour notice. Failure to cancel an appointment may require credit card information to book future appointments. Services booked to be used from a Gift Certificate or Gift Card will result in deduction from certificate or card for no-shows or cancellations not given a 24-hour notice. Thank you for your consideration and understanding.
